Meet the West Music Cedar Rapids Team!

Hank Welter – Band & Orchestra Sales Consultant

Hank is from Iowa City and Washington, IA, but now resides in NE Cedar Rapids, in the Kennedy School District. He graduated from City High in 2014. Hank attended Kirkwood for three years in preparation to attend music school. Hank listens to a lot of different music, but his current favorites are 70’s-80’s funk/fusion/disco, dream rock, doom metal, Old Country especially 50’s-70’s, and Folk.

Hank enjoys learning about history, listening to podcasts/books on tape, riding motorcycles, working on vehicles, working on saxes/other band instruments, playing with his band Soul Sherpa, Treesreach, and other bands around the Cedar Rapids area.

His favorite event in town is playing at Hank’s Moco Jam the first Thursday of every month. Hank’s favorite restaurants include Pub 217, Third Base, Mandarin Spice, Map Room, Starlight, Chef Wong’s, Mai Pho, and many others.

Jodi Bierschenk – Orchestra/Band Sales Associate

“My name is Joellen Bierschenk, but my mom and family have always called me Jodi. I have no idea why, it just is!” Jodi lives on a farm in southern Benton County just off of highway 218. Up until this year, she was the 6th-8th grade band director at Vinton-Shellsburg Community School. She has since retired from teaching, but “I refuse to RETIRE!” She now works at West Music Cedar Rapids because she loves working with people and sharing her knowledge of band instruments and music.

Tim Crumley – Combo Sales Consultant

Tim was born in Des Moines, IA, raised in Allison, IA, and currently resides in Marion, IA.
Tim has attended Allison-Bristow Community School, Iowa Lakes Community College, NIACC, University of Northern Iowa (Bachelor of Art, General Studies/Music), and University of Iowa (Music Therapy).

Tim’s musical interests include jazz, funk, big-band, R&B, Afro-Cuban, Brazillian, classical, Dixieland, and pop. In his free time, Tim has enjoyed running for 30 years! Other interests include wine, listening to lots of music, and spending time with family and friends. He also collects drums & cymbals!

In the Cedar Rapids area, Tim enjoys eating at Napoli’s Restaurant, visiting parks, and playing gigs.

Greg Herring – Store Manager

Greg was born in Cedar Rapids, IA and attended school in Kirkwood. When asked about his interests, Greg was guick to respond “I Love Music!”
